Eduroam adalah layanan education roaming, yang memungkinkan sivitas akademika di seluruh dunia mendapatkan koneksi WiFi secara seamless di 101 negara dan di lebih dari 12.000 institusi. Salah satu layanan yang diberikan oleh Indonesia Research Education Network (IdREN) adalah eduroam, yang memungkinkan dosen, staf, dan mahasiswa dari perguruan tinggi di Indonesia untuk melakukan roaming WiFi secara gratis dan mudah di tempat-tempat di mana eduroam tersedia.
Untuk mempercepat pertumbuhan jumlah kampus di Indonesia agar dapat menjadi bagian dari eduroam Indonesia secara khusus (dan dunia pada umumnya), maka Universitas Brawijaya bersama IdREN akan menyelenggarakan workshop eduroam (freeRADIUS dan LDAP) yang ditargetkan kepada kampus-kampus di Indonesia secara umum, dan khususnya pada kampus yang sudah terhubung dengan jejaring IdREN. Target dari kegiatan ini adalah, dalam waktu 6 bulan di paruh pertama tahun 2019, semua kampus yang mengikuti workshop eduroam ini dapat mengaktivasi keanggotaan mereka di eduroam Indonesia.
Arran Cudbard-Bell
Arran Cudbard-Bell is one of the freeRADIUS core developer. He has been working with Network Radius (the company behind freeRADIUS) for the past 5 years. He is the principal architect for the freeRADIUS project, the world’s most popular RADIUS server. He is intimately acquainted with most network access protocols. He has experience in eduroam setup long before he joins Network RADIUS. He setup eduroam at University of Sussex, United Kingdom.
Mukhammad Andri Setiawan
Mukhammad Andri Setiawan is the Chief Information Officer at Universitas Islam Indonesia. He has been joining Universitas Islam Indonesia since 2003. Andri has over 20 years experience as an IT engineer and still has a passion for doing one, even though now he has a role as CIO. He is also working as an Assistant Professor and Lecturer in Department of Informatics, Universitas Islam Indonesia. He holds PhD from the University of Queensland, Australia, and a Master degree in Communication Software and Networks from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. He has lots of passion for improving internet in Higher Education Network. He is actively engaged with IT communities at universities network across Indonesia and Asia Pacific. He is one of the main administrators of eduroam Indonesia. He is now also serving as the head of Training and Community development, a sub unit at IDNIC (Indonesia Network Information Center), the National Internet Registry (NIR) of the Republic of Indonesia.
Achmad Basuki
He is a senior lecturer at Faculty of Computer Science, Universitas Brawijaya. He receives Master and Doctor of Philosophy in Cyber Informatics from Keio University, Japan, in 2008 and 2012. Apart of his work as a lecturer, he is also the director of Information and Communication Unit, Universitas Brawijaya, with the tasks to empower the University with ICT. He is also actively coordinating Indonesia Research and Education Network (IDREN), together with other representatives from top Universities in Indonesia to revive the former REN in Indonesia, INHERENT. He is currently active in several international research collaboration: SOI-Asia project (http://soi.asia) for distance education in the Asian region and COMPETEN-SEA (Erasmus+ Project).
